Welcome to a new life without Alcohol
Welcome and thank you for your interest in Alcoholics Anonymous®. As you explore our web site, you will see that the first and most important step in our 12 step program of recovery, is admission that we are powerless over alcohol, and that our life has become unmanageable. This is a huge first step, and may be difficult to grasp. This can be made easier, and, in our experience, is always helpful, by speaking with an A.A®. member. This can help in better understanding the nature of the disease of alcoholism, what A.A.® has to offer and what you can expect at a typical A.A.® meeting.
Alcoholics Anonymous® is a program of recovery. It is a new way of living life without the need, desire or obsession for alcohol. A.A.® is a program that is working successfully for millions of men and women throughout the world. Men and women from all walks of life, backgrounds and spiritual beliefs.
The experience of A.A.® members is that alcoholism is a progressive illness that cannot be cured, but which, like many other illnesses, we can learn to live with. By staying away from that first drink, one day at a time, we can live a life that is happy, joyous and sober.
A.A.® members have been exactly where you are. We know how hard it is, particularly at the start. We are happy to offer help by sharing our experience, strength and hope in staying sober. One of the ways we members stay sober is by helping others to achieve sobriety. we look forward to seeing you at meetings.
